Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale

Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale

Bear Republic makes a fine IPA. Even with the lamest label design, it’s a well crafted IPA in my opinion. I haven’t really seen or tried their other selections, until recently, the Red Rocket Ale.

I was shocked to hear this was a Red Ale…even though, well, okay…it says Red Ale on the tap. But this doesn’t really have the components or characteristics of a normal Red.

Very dark, red color. Think crimson esque, ruby color. At first whiff, very sweet. Filled with malts and caramel characteristics.

As I sip away, this brew packs a punch. Fairly strong, but all in all, very tasty. Sweet, caramel malts and some bitters. Definitely full bodied with some carbonation & hops that is all well balanced.

I dug it. Bear Republic is definitely going to start being on my radar. I recommend it should be on yours too!
