If there’s one beer I could drink the rest of my life, stranded on an island, etc, etc…that be Sly Fox’s Pikeland Pils. Hands down, one of my all time favorite brews. Granted, you gotta seriously appreciate Pilsners to like this beer. Me? I love Pilsners. They’re slightly above IPAs & APAs on my list. They’re smooth, crisp, light and all day drinkable.
I was introduced to the Pikeland Pils during one of Sly Fox’s goat races, an awesome Phoenixville Event if you never been. Who would have known racing goat would be a solid drinking event? I just remember being instantly hooked. And with them being available in cans, all the better.
It pours a golden body with endless bubbles. As for taste, very smooth. Refreshing. Perfect for the hottest days. Very crisp, clean with a huge carbonation factor that follows you the whole way down. It’s slightly hoppy and balanced with bitters. If you look for it, you’ll feel the tickle of bitters and sweetless linger on the tongue.
What’s great about the Pikeland Pils is it’s a perfect session brew. You can seriously knock back a sixer and maybe get a slight buzz on. Very light.
You gotta be a Pils fan to really appreciate this. You like em’ or hate em’. I love em’. And this is one of the best. Yes, better than Prima…and I am sure that comment just might get me executed. Until then, CHEERS!
