Don’t be fooled by the name. Oktoberfest starts in September and ends the first week in October. A misconception to many. But the bottom line is that it’s a tradition that originated from a royal marriage in Munich Germany, a party that lasted three weeks and today, we carry on the festivities in the US. We strap on Lederhosen, we drink mass quanities of delicous beer from steins, listen to Oompa music while scarfing down bratwurst. Yes, it is a good time to be a beer drinker.
But what’s a good Oktoberfest beer? There are so many. SOOOO so many. And we plan to cover them all (and can’t wait to try em’). Starting today though, we begin with Spaten Oktoberfest.
It is hands down one of my favorites, let alone, Oktoberfest Beer, but unfortunately, it’s seasonal and can only be enjoyed two months out of the year. So enjoy it why it lasts.
It has a nice blend of malt, light hops with a hint of caramel & toffee aromas. This is definitely a nice blend to kick off the Fall season and enjoy outdoors. We recommend draft, but bottles are fine. Just enjoy it. Savor it. Have a pretzel while your at it for the full Oktoberfest experience. We plan on drinking this at Phoenixville’s Oktoberfest. We recommend you do the same….with us.
